Tragedy Strikes: North Dakota Senator, Family Perish in Utah Plane Crash
It is with a heavy heart that North Dakota State Senator, Cory Christofferson, and his family suffered a tragic accident on Wednesday when their plane crashed into a remote hillside in Utah. Cory and his wife, Charla Christofferson, along with their two children were ages 5 and 7, where the only occupants of the aircraft at the time of the crash. The family was en route to St. George, Utah for a family vacation but unfortunately never reached their destination. Federal aviation investigators are still piecing together the details of the incident but an official cause of the crash has yet to be determined. As the news of the death of Cory and his family has begun to spread, many in the state of North Dakota are offering their condolences. From long time colleagues to those of the senator. They all have taken to various social media sites to express their thoughts and prayers. “Cory was a wonderful man; he was kind, considerate, and devoted to his family. He will be sorely missed,” said one longtime friend of the family. Cory’s senate colleagues also released a statement expressing their sympathies. “Cory worked diligently for the people of North Dakota and was a true public servant. He was an incredible father and husband and will be deeply missed not only in the senate but amongst all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” said one North Dakota Senator. A family memorial service will be held later this week.
