“WWE Scores Big with $1.4 Billion SmackDown Return to NBCUniversal’s USA Network
The Legion of Brands is excited to announce that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and NBCUniversal recently reached an agreement to bring Smackdown Live back to USA Network. The deal is reportedly valued at more than $1.4 billion and is one of the highest valued television deals ever.
The deal is a major win for WWE, which is one of the most popular entertainment brands in the world. With more than 20 million fans worldwide, WWE brings an enormous amount of revenue to NBCUniversal and the USA Network via tickets, merchandise, licensing, and other partnerships.
For several years, WWE has aired programming on USA Network but after a whopping deal in 2019, the network moved Smackdown Live over to Fox. However, that deal ended early and the show was broadcasted on Fox Sports for the past year.
Now, Smackdown Live will return to the USA Network as part of the new agreement. The show will be aired from 9pm – 11pm ET every Friday and will feature a variety of top-level superstars from around the world including AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, and The Miz. Additionally, the USA Network will also continue to broadcast Raw and NXT on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Not only is the deal great news for WWE, but it is also great news for NBCUniversal and the USA Network. It is expected that the deal will bring in plenty of revenue for the network and help to increase viewership.
We can’t wait to see the superstars take the ring on the USA Network once again and know that this new deal is only the beginning.
